Bacterial Disease That Spreads From Animals To Humans Reported In U.S. Dogs

Oklahoma veterinarian Sara Rowland recently treated a 7-month-old puppy that showed signs of the disease, according to KOCO. “The pet was not eating well, vomiting and had a yellow tint that you could tell the liver was affected,” said Rowland. KUTV reported September 2019 that at least 13 dogs in Utah had contracted the disease. Those cases are believed to have originated at a boarding kennel, where an infected dog may have been kept....

Balcony Garden Ideas To Utilize Your Apartment S Outdoor Space

But while not everybody is lucky enough to have a garden, households boasting a balcony can also reap the rewards. Elin Harryson, in-house expert Swedish plant care app Planta, believes there are clear reasons to utilize your apartment’s outdoor space. She told Newsweek: “For those that can’t access forests or parks all the time, you can still access the perks of nature by bringing plants into your space. “In fact, adding houseplants to small areas like balconies is one of the best ways to maximize your space, because plants can help reduce noise pollution, improve air quality, and add privacy to otherwise open apartments, all while helping you customize and decorate your space....

Back 4 Blood S Best Feature May Not Be The Zombies

Comparisons between Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood make a lot of sense as much of the team that worked on the Valve series is working on Back 4 Blood. It’s because of the shared team and the many extended trailers rife with developer commentary that many fans feel like they know what to expect from the game, both good and bad. One thing that Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 got very right back in the day were the excellent, memorable casts of characters that players controlled while attempting to survive the zombie apocalypse....

Back To School Ad Shows Boy Dressed In Body Armor For First Day Of Class

The ad was released by Mothers Against Greg Abbott calling for Texans to vote in the midterm election in November for candidates in favor of gun safety reforms in an effort to protect children. The PAC includes parents, family members, Democrats, moderate Republicans and independents in Texas, according to its website. The ad release comes at the start of the new school year and a few months after the deadly Uvalde, Texas, shooting in May in which 19 children and two teachers were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School, allegedly by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, who used two AR-15 rifles....

The superheated rhetoric may be so much hot air for now, but it shows how far relations have deteriorated since January 2004, when the leaders of the two nuclear-armed rivals began a dialogue aimed at normalizing relations and eventually solving the nearly 60-year-old dispute over the Himalayan territory of Kashmir....

Back To The Front

Can John Kerry “tough it out” all the way to the White House? Can he do it against a political machine–Bush-Cheney ‘04–as wealthy, powerful and remorseless as any in modern history? It is an urgent question to Democrats, who yearn to unseat President George W. Bush with an apocalyptic fervor that makes one word–“electability”–the defining idea in the race. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Jeanne Shaheen, former governor of New Hampshire....

Back To The Gulag

Former political prisoners have held other reunions since the Soviet system collapsed, but this one was special. The survivors were gathered for the formal dedication of the camp’s rebuilt main barracks as a memorial to those who perished in the gulag – somewhere between 12 million and 20 million people over 74 years. Like Buchenwald and Auschwitz before it, Perm-36 is being transformed into a place of learning and silent prayer-the first such memorial at a former prison camp in a nation still struggling to come to terms with the legacy of Stalinism....

Back Where It All Began Lin Continues To Embrace His New Reality

Lin might no longer be in the starring role he once filled in New York, but in Thursday’s 109-106 Rockets victory, he was hardly a subplot. He came up huge for Houston in the fourth quarter when he was most needed. James Harden led the team with 36 points, and Chandler Parsons had 22, but it was Lin’s 12 points in the final period that kept the Knicks at bay and pushed the Rockets to the win....

Bad Games Are There Unforgivable Sins In Game Development

What’s a gamer to do? If we dropped any game or developer that ever irked us, we’d have very little left to play. But when bad games keep disappointing us, how much (if anything) should we forgive? Minor Mishaps Are Worthy Of Forgiveness It’s hard to apply absolutes to games—are there any truly good or bad games, or just subjective experiences? More importantly, few games are bad on every level....
